Wednesday the 08/09/21, I had some work to do first, but then I decided it was such a nice day, and the weather was supposed to change for the weekend, that I’d…

… throw the soft-top roof back, and take the Jimny Buggy out to do some local lanes, before the winter sets in, and I retreat into the garage to start building the “lil-bugga” next project…

I started with my nearest favourite greenlane over at Tremeirchion, a lovely BOAT…

Now you can see why it’s one of my favourites and so close to my home…
What’s that fizzing noise I think as I shut the gate behind the buggy…?

NOOOOoooo! FFS, that’s engine coolant…?

So I limp up the ‘lane slowly to the top where it levels out, and park the buggy on a bank so I can safely crawl underneath to see what’s up…
The bottom radiator rubber hose has a tear in it, and all the engine coolant has run out… I poured a bottle of water in and it all pissed straight out again 😦
Only one thing for it…

Off the ‘lane and to a place of safety…

And ring and then message my mate Leigh at LNS Recovery with my location, and ask for yet another recovery… 😦

The other benefit of half doors… somewhere to rest your legs whist you wait for recovery! 😦 I messaged a couple of mates I was supposed to be greenlaning with on the Sunday to say I was unfortunately out of the trip, messaged my loved ones to say I’d broken down, and also ordered some bolts for my ZookBOB sideline business… As you do?! LOL
Soon…

… Toby, Leighs son and right-hand man, appeared in a flatbed recovery truck…

I turned the buggy round ready for recovery…

Up on the… is it me? or is that a matching paint job on the recovery truck? It is my fourth recovery by the guys at LNS Recovery… have I got my own matching truck?! LOL … and Toby lashes the buggy to the flatbed…

Up it goes once again for the shameful journey home…
Best to get recovered home rather than (c/f)ook the engine on the short journey home with no coolant in the system…?

Pulling up outside our house… I can’t help but wonder how many recovery trucks have unloaded here over the twenty three years we’ve lived here?! LOL

Down it comes…

And the naughty buggy is locked in a cold dark garage to spend some time thinking about what it’s done… once again! 😉 LOL
A day ruined?…
No…

My NGV (“New Grand Vitara”) was called into action instead! And I went tarmac-laning for a few hours rather then green-laning… lots of tight country lanes over the Welsh hills behind the coast, and then throwing it round some nice windey B roads to contemplate my options?!
What options?! I returned with an ultimate grin and a renewed fire in my belly… to get the buggy fixed and back out again, soon…
So, both (top and bottom) radiator hoses, and a pair of rear drum brake pistons* have been ordered from Martin @ the BigJimny store (and discussion forum) to replace even more items on the underlying twenty year old Jimny that the Boogie is based on… Where do you stop though, most components on the buggy have been replaced, refurbished or new parts added already? LOL
We’ll return soon… all the parts should be here by Wednesday next week for replacement, so we’ll soon be out again soon…
Just a damn shame to miss this Sunday’s trip with Brett, Alan & Riccy…
Ah well, soon…
