Sunday the 26th of September, we were still struggling to get stock during the “pingdemic”, lots of capping and stock shortages, so first thing in the morning I was off to the local Booker Cash & Carry, and got there when they opened…

Ahh, might of been a bit optimistic there?! I usually gauge it as “If I can get it on one trolley and still pull it down the aisles it will fit in the GeeVee…

Got it all in and on though!

Made it home / back to the shop at a steady pace…

Unloaded, had a cuppa and a bacon sandwich, and then decided to have a bit of a wander… the weather was good, and was supposed to turn wet the next week, so get out now before the winter arrives…

Back to my favourite local ‘lane where I broke down the on the last trip when the radiator hose split…

Nice tree lined ‘lane…

Up to the gate and then onto open farmland with the sweeping ‘lane up to the horizon…

Just through the gate…

View to the North Wales coast behind…

Heading towards the top, and I paused for another photo…

Out of the buggy, it started to miss, and then stalled? When I got back in it and tried to start it, it faltered, mis-fired some more, and then eventually started and ran lumpy, faltering and struggling, and then I looked in the rear view mirror and saw masses of white smoke behind 😦 I got out and lifted the bonnet… I could hear hissing in the top of the block and the radiator bubbling wildly… FFS, sounds like the head has gone, again?! I managed to get to the end of the ‘lane…

Through the gate and ring LNS for yet another (the fifth!) recovery of the buggy… 😦

That’s all I need whilst I’m waiting… 25 or so walkers came passed me through the gate admiring the buggy, to which I had to admit that it had broken down, once again…

They’d come up the bottom BOAT on the map to the red circle where I was stranded, and were heading north up the map on the Offa’s Dyke Footpath on the map…
A lone Land Rover Discovery also came up behind me on the ‘lane, I explained I’d broken down and they said it was okay, they were just stopping for a cuppa, and would turn round if necessary…
After fifteen minutes, I figured the coolant would have calmed down, so I popped the bonnet open and gingerly removed the radiator cap… yup, water gone, I refilled with 1.3L of water so a fair bit had gone through the head and out of the exhaust…
With it then running a bit better I decided to move it to the same gateway “layby” I was recovered from last time…

Where those half doors came in handy once again! 😦
Whilst I was waiting…

“GV42” off the BigJimny forum came up towards the ‘lane, with…

… his brother in another Jimny…
They stopped for a while for a chat and to offer some kind words of support… And then they set off to complete their days greenlaning trip…

And then soon the recovery truck arrived 🙂

Loaded me on…

And once again dropped me home, for the buggy to await repairs once again…
Needless to say it will be going back to the garage who did the head gasket recently to see what went wrong… 😦
More on that soon…
